Polynomial Calculators and Solvers

In mathematics, a polynomial is an expression that is constructed from one variable or more variables and constants, using only the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and constant positive whole number exponents.  x3+3x2+x-5   is a polynomial.

Polynomials are built from terms called monomials, which consist of a constant (called the coefficient) multiplied by one or more variables (these are usually represented by letters). Each variable may have a constant positive whole number exponent. The exponent on a variable in a monomial is equal to the degree of that variable in that monomial. Since x = x1, the degree of a variable without a written exponent is one. A monomial with no variables is called a constant monomial, or just a constant. The degree of a constant term is 0. The coefficient of a monomial may be any number, including fractions, irrational numbers, and negative numbers.

Polynomials can be added, substracted, multiplied, divided, integrated, derivated and the result is also a polynomial. Also, seen as an equation, like x3+3x2+x-5 = 0 one can find the polynomial's roots ( zeros ) just like for any other math functions.
